Wine and Cards

Wine and Cards is an example of how something can be just nice and good-looking, without any complex backstories, symbolism or concepts. It depicts simply what the title says, or well, the title exactly says what's on the painting.
The somewhat blurry painted cards and bottle contrast a bit with the a glass, that is a little more detailed. The blur reminds me of early impressionists, while the scenery makes me think of Juan Gris.
Wine and Cards is just a fine painting to look at and that's a delight in a world where so much endlessly ugly conceptual art exists.
